It’s a classic Charlie Tonic Bottoms Up this week as we flash back to the start of 2013 and our afternoon sampling beer in the private tap room located in the heart of the Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. in Lexington, KY. This the home of the wonderful Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Join us as we discuss the beers of Alltech with their brewing craftsmen (and a few marketing reps). It’s a side of Alltech the public doesn’t usually get to see and we bring it to you in a short shot of audio once again this week.

Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. consists of their brewery as well as their Town Branch Distillery, which was added to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in October 2012 and became the first distillery built in Lexington in more than 100 years.
Alltech began brewing their award-winning Kentucky Ale in 2000 in downtown Lexington, Ky, and began distilling several years later. Their continually-growing Kentucky Ale family of brews now includes Kentucky Ale, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, Kentucky Kölsch, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout, and Kentucky IPA. Their line of spirits includes Town Branch Bourbon, Pearse Lyons Reserve, and Bluegrass Sundown. Their facility is the oldest craft brewery in the city and is one of the few joint brewing and distilling operations in the world.
