News From Across the Pandora World
Tomorrow is the first Saturday of July so you know what that means…Steampunk Salon! It is once again time for Cincinnati’s tinkerers, dandies, and anachonists to converge on Arnold’s Bar and Grill for the League of Cincinnati Steampunk‘s monthly salon. Arnold’s finally has air conditioning so it should be safe to venture out in the heat in your steampunk gear, although it’s probably a good idea to leave the wool greatcoat at home.
The big news of the past week was of course Pandora Promotion‘s purchase of Derby City Comic Con. It’s a great show and we here at Pandora are looking forward to continuing to grow and develop this show. Charlie, Aloysius and myself had a great time vending, promoting and getting to know the show this year, as you can tell from this post I wrote for The Charlie Tonic Hour. In case you missed this year’s fun check out this great video that was put together by Kelvo9.
And while we are on the topic of comics, don’t forget about our partner website Comic Related. Charlie is still a co-owner of this excellent news and information site that he started several years ago. Brant Fowler, co-owner and writer for the site has put together a great story this week in honor of International Kissing Day on the most memorable kisses in comics.
Friend of the Charlie Tonic Hour and creator of the Hamster Rage webcomic, Brain Crowley, pointed us in the direction of a very cool looking tabletop game that is currently working on a Kickstarter campaign to get into production. Quicksilver: The Great Airship Race looks like it will be of great interest to steampunkers and gamers alike. I strongly encourage you to check out their video and make a pledge. They are at about 50% of their goal right now and I would love to see them able to bring this game to next year’s Symposium.
