Pandora Society Update

Pandora Society Update

It’s Friday so that must mean it’s time for the news from around the Pandora Society. So what have we got going on around here?

This weekend the big news is the League of Cincinnati Steampunks monthly salon. In addition to the usual mirth and merriment that can be found on the first Saturday of the month at Arnold’s Bar and Grill you will also find a photographer and editor from Citybeat in attendance. It looks like the mainstream press is starting to catch on. Look for a cover story on steampunk in Cincinnati coming out in the third week in April, including an exclusive interview with Aloysius Fox and details on the Steampunk Empire Symposium. Join us at the salon and you might just end up in the paper as well.

And speaking of the Symposium, it was just announced this week that due to popular demand there will be one day tickets sold for Saturday, April 28th, only. Although guests holding a day badge will not be eligible to compete in the games or in the raffle to see the burlesque show, for only $20 you can gain access to all of the other delights the Steampunk Empire Symposium has to offer, including the Midnight Masquerade. Tickets for the day can be purchased at the door on Saturday.

Pandoracon continues to build a name for itself as not only the most exciting new sci-fi show to be announced for 2012 but also as a one-stop-shop for all your nerdly news. It was announced this week that the Gamemasters of Cincycon will be running the games room at Pandoracon in September. Pandoracon is also officially a multimedia site. Pandora is proud to announce that the legendary Butch R. Cleaver of Meet Cleaver Theater is creating Pandoracon editions of his popular web show.

Looking ahead Charlie, Aloysius and myself will be joining John Wilson and other Comic Related stalwarts at C2E2 April 13-15. I am looking forward to meeting Decapitated Dan, Don Johnson and Gordon Dymowski who I have heard many tale of but have yet to meet outside of Facebook. By the way if you are a fan of Dr. Who you need to check out Gordon’s new live web show Bar Tab of Rassilon. I am sure that Charlie and I will have lots of exciting stories to share with you all when we get back, and possibly even another roadshow podcast coming at you this week.
